A printed thangka of White Tara, one of the more popular forms of the female Buddha Tara. White Tara is supremely peaceful and meditative and is often praised as the mother of All Buddhas. She sits in the meditative posture and she has eyes of watchful compassion on her forehead, the palms of her hands and the soles of her feet. Her right hand is in the mudra (gesture) of unconditional giving while her left hand holds a blue utpala flower

White Tara is famous for granting long life and for averting life-threatening situations. Her practice is especially beneficial for those who are older or who need healing.
